Business

Well I have started my own business. I am really excited about it. A lot of work but I am enjoying it.  I feel this is what I am suppose to be doing. Next week I go to my first festival of the year. Looking forward to it. I am going to be busy for awhile. I need to get some more doll quilts make. I sold two of them on Sunday and only have 2 left. Need to make a couple of soldier cot quilts also.

At it again!

Well I am going to try this blog thing again. LOL I have been so busy around here lately. So many things have been happening. Some good and some bad.

I found a church to attend in Chesterton, Road to Life Church. I am loving it there. I am meeting people and am involved in things. I am doing a weight loss challenge right now. I need to get back into shape and I figured this would help cause I have accountability and encouragement. I love my Pastor and his wife. They have an awesome vision for the area and for people to grow. Is is a new church plant and God has been moving in our services and we are growing!! God is so good.  

I have been speaking to different groups about Civil War quilts and Depression Era quilts. I have really loved doing that. In August I will be speaking at the Lake County Fair on quilts. God just open the door for all of this. 

I have done a rendezvous in April. My next planned event is a festival in Hamlet then the following weekend is Aukiki River Festival. Which is special to me. It was my first festival. Then in September I will be at Trail of Courage. And I might be at Buckley Homestead in October for Civil War Days. I have been making shirts to sell and have sold some things. So I am happy with that. Can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

I also am now on the advisory board for Kankakee Valley Historical Society. I am really excited about that. I am thankful for getting the opportunity to give input and share some of my other talents. 

Well need to go do some evening cleaning. I hope to keep up with this blog this time.

 

Another Rainy Day

Getting really tired of this rain!!! Hope it ends soon. The field behind us is like a lake. I really need to get some yard work done. Have to pull weeds and get some mulch down in all of the gardens. Plus need to get the plants out in the garden.

Didn't get anything done this past week. Just could not get motivated. I really need to get it done this week. Yard work and cleaning the basement. I also want to spend some time sewing and getting some projects done.

Went to my first garage sale of the season last Wednesday. I bought a 4 drawer lateral filing cabinet for $5!!! and it is in perfect condition!! Now to get it in the basement. I am ready to hit some more yard sales now!!!

The quilt club is doing well. We are getting new people so that is good. We are up to 8 ladies now. Been researching places to have a quilt retreat at. I think I have a place picked out and dates. Just need to have everyone check their schedules and get the date saved.

Well it is a raining day today. I was going to work in the yard but that is not going to happen today. Maybe tomorrow.

Our robin has 3 babies now. The last egg hatched today. It will fun to watch them grow. Not sure how mama is going to teach them to fly since she built the nest on the ground. That will be interesting.

Working on doll quilts and Jeremy's quilt. Need to get them done and move on to other things. There is always something to make. I just can't sit around, I need to be doing something. It is nice that I now have a walking foot and free motion foot for my machine now. I am loving those!!!

Well off to do some sewing and cleaning of my sewing room, which seems like that never ends.

Going to try blogging one more time. See if I can get the hang of this. A lot has been going on. Getting ready for the Aukiki River Festival in August. Making doll quilts to sell there. Also making needle holders. Have two doll quilts done. They take longer to put together since the pieces are so small. Have a couple of other projects in the works also.

Yesterday I hit my first garage sale of the season. I got a 4 drawer filing cabinet for $5.oo What a deal!!!!! Now to get it in the basement. My neighbors boyfriend put it in the garage for me. Mike is in TX working till this weekend. Maybe Mike and the neighbor can get it downstairs. I am so excited about my find!!!!

Well need to get to bed. Have a lot to do tomorrow. Have a nice day!!!

Already got behind blogging

Well it did not take me long to get behind in my blogging. Totally forgot I was going to do this. But it is early morning so I am not going to write much. Need to get to bed. Tomorrow is quilt club meeting and I need to get some rest.

OK I have tried this before and didn't go anywhere with it so I am back to the beginning. I thought I would give blogging a try and see how it goes. Been busy making quilt tops and will post some pics of the newest ones soon. I am now working on a tie quilt for a librarian. Then I need to start another genealogy quilt that should have been done last year. So I want to get it done asap!!! So there you have it! Hope to get the hang of all of this and keep it going.
